As part of the design team for The Kim Komando Show, a nationally syndicated tech and lifestyle brand, I worked across a wide range of creative projects that extended the show’s identity across print and digital platforms. My work included logo development, podcast cover art, digital and print campaigns, and e-commerce photography.
I collaborated with internal teams to evolve the brand’s visual language while also developing new standards for consistency across platforms. Projects ranged from designing promotional graphics and marketing materials to creating visual assets that supported podcast distribution and product launches. Each deliverable balanced clear communication with a strong visual presence, helping the brand connect with both its broadcast audience and its growing digital community.
The Kim Komando Show
PodNet Branding
I was the lead designer responsible for creating the identity of Podnet, a podcast network developed for The Kim Komando Show. The goal was to build a brand that would host Kim’s personal podcasts as well as her nationally syndicated radio shows, with a visual identity that appealed to the core demographic of men ages 35 and older.
To connect with a tech-savvy audience, I focused on a clean, modern look that balanced clarity with an appeal to tech enthusiasts. Working closely with Kim, the creative team, and the web team, we agreed to carry over a similar color palette from the main site, Komando.com, in order to maintain brand continuity while giving Podnet its own distinctive presence.
I explored a wide range of logo sketches before finalizing the design. The chosen mark was built to capture energy and movement, with an animated version designed to mimic sound waves and bring the identity to life in digital environments. The “K” app icon tied directly back to Kim Komando’s name, creating a strong and recognizable link between her established brand and the new podcast platform.
The result was a flexible identity system that gave Podnet a polished, contemporary presence, positioning it as both an extension of Kim Komando’s media brand and a stand-alone destination for digital audio content.
PodNet Website
I collaborated with another designer and the web team to create graphics and visual assets for the Podnet website. Our goal was to extend the brand identity into a clean, user-friendly digital space that showcased Kim Komando’s podcasts and syndicated radio shows. I contributed design elements that aligned with the new Podnet branding, ensuring consistency across typography, color palette, and iconography.
Podcast Cover Art
Together with another designer, I created podcast cover art for the Podnet website and streaming platforms. Each cover was designed to stand out individually while still aligning with the overall Podnet brand system. Typography, color, and composition were carefully chosen to remain clear at small digital sizes while appealing to tech enthusiasts and listeners browsing across platforms.
The covers gave each show its own recognizable identity while maintaining consistency within the larger Podnet network, helping the podcasts feel both unique and connected under one brand.
The Golden Age of Radio podcast relives some of the most popular programs from the 1930s, 1940s, and 1950s, bringing those classic broadcasts to a modern audience. For this series, I designed the logo and customized podcast cover art to reflect the spirit of each show.
I developed visuals that supported the storytelling of the episodes, using color and typography choices that created a sense of nostalgia while staying clear and impactful for today’s listeners. Each design was tailored to feel true to the history of radio.
