Phoenix Home & Garden
As a Senior Graphic Designer at PHOENIX magazine and Phoenix Home & Garden, I drove concept development, layout execution, and advertorial integration for two of Arizona’s leading publications. At PHOENIX magazine, I produced more than 300 physician profile pages for the flagship Top Docs issue and designed advertising across print, digital, and social platforms. Partnering closely with art directors, marketing, sales, and editorial teams, I developed ads and special sections that balanced creativity with client goals. My work also included designing media kits, sales sheets, event branding, and promotional assets, ensuring consistent alignment with brand standards and strengthening the publications’ presence across multiple channels.
Advertorial
I developed the creative direction for all advertorial sections feature in PHOENIX magazine and Phoenix Home & Garden. Worked closely with editorial team to finalize designs. I developed and led the creative direction for all advertorial sections in PHOENIX magazine and Phoenix Home & Garden, working closely with art directors and the editorial team to refine and finalize designs.
For the advertorial sections in PHOENIX magazine and Phoenix Home & Garden, I focused on creating design solutions that felt true to each publication while giving advertisers a strong and stylish presence.
My process often began with exploring multiple concepts for the opener pages, experimenting with layouts, imagery, and typography that set the right mood for the section. Typography was especially important in shaping the voice of each piece, and I used scale, alignment, and expressive type choices to capture the look and feel of the magazine.
Each design was tailored to reflect the distinct identity of the publication. PHOENIX magazine called for bold compositions, striking imagery, and a modern sensibility, while Phoenix Home & Garden required a more elegant and refined approach with thoughtful layouts and a polished typographic voice.
I collaborated closely with art directors and the editorial team to refine and polish every detail, ensuring each section flowed naturally within the magazine while also standing out as a unique space for advertisers. The final designs balanced editorial cohesion with brand storytelling, resulting in advertorials that resonated with readers and maintained the integrity of the publication.

Print + Digital Ads
I designed client advertisements across both PHOENIX magazine and Phoenix Home & Garden, producing print and digital ads that extended into each publication’s social media platforms. My role included designing layouts, selecting photography, developing taglines, and ensuring each piece aligned with both the client’s goals and the magazine’s standards.
Collaboration with the sales team was key to finalizing ads that met deadlines and expectations. When clients didn’t have a clear vision, I created multiple mock-ups to explore directions and guide them toward an effective solution. At times, I also developed new brand guidelines, helping clients establish a consistent visual identity for their campaigns.
In-House Event Branding
I worked closely with art directors to bring the publications’ annual events to life through cohesive visual identities. Each project was an opportunity to shape how readers and attendees experienced the brand, whether through a full-page ad in the magazine, an eblast in their inbox, or banners and signage that defined the event space. By extending the design across print, social media platforms, and large format applications, I created unified campaigns that carried the same voice from first impression to final detail.
As part of PHOENIX magazine’s event branding team, I designed creative for Best Fest, AZ Craft Beer Awards, Summer Cocktail Camp, and Dish Fest, while also leading visuals for Phoenix Home & Garden’s Home Tour and Garden Tour. Each event called for its own atmosphere and energy, and my role was to translate that into visuals that felt engaging, polished, and true to the publications’ identity. From posters and flyers to tradeshow graphics and promotional campaigns, every piece was designed to create connection and build anticipation while maintaining brand consistency.
